Church in the Park is simply another time for our church family and other friends to get together for fellowship, prayer, and learning from God’s Word. We’ve been meeting at the Barnes Park baseball bleachers at 6pm on Sundays. After some time of fellowship and meeting new friends, we follow a fairly simple schedule of songs, testimonies, lesson, and a game.
WHY THE PARK?
Why don’t we just do a normal Sunday evening service at KBC during the summer? The park allows us to be out in God’s creation while we worship our Creator. We also find the park to be a good meeting place for those who might not have come to Kaysville Bible Church before.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Church in the Park is for the EVERYONE! Even if you don’t normally attend KBC, we would love to have you join us! We also encourage people to invite friends and neighbors. All around we see a wide variety of people who come (kids, teens, young adults, parents, singles, co-workers, neighbors, new visitors, etc.).
HOW INFORMAL?
Since we are in a park and some people are playing games, most people dress more casually (jeans, shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes, etc.). The atmosphere is more casual as well. The start time and ending are fairly informal as well. Some people can’t get there right at 6:00, and some need to leave early.
WHY CHURCH IN THE PARK?
KBC exists “for the purpose of winning souls to Jesus Christ through the proclamation of the Gospel, edifying believers through the teaching of the Word of God, and evangelizing the world through witnessing and missions,” and Church in the Park is no different. The underlying purpose of Church in the Park is to edify believers and share the good news of Jesus with the world. Church in the Park allows us to accomplish this purpose in different ways by utilizing our location, atmosphere, and informality to reach people we might not otherwise be able to meet.
Given the nature of meeting outside at the park, there are a few variables related to weather, schedule, location, park availability, etc.. To stay in the loop, you can receive text notifications with the most up to date info.
